Welcome to my website

I grew up surrounded by landscapes of the West of Ireland, as an artist I find inspiration in the poetic interplay of nature and history that shapes our land. I have always felt a deep connection to the stories embedded in the earth and sky. My work reflects the beauty of our rugged coastlines, rolling hills, and ancient sites, these natural wonders and also the rich tapestry of Irish culture and heritage that informs our collective identity.

In my art, I seek to bridge the contemporary with the past. Each piece is an exploration of how our landscapes evoke powerful memories, emotions, and shared experiences. Through watercolor and delicate brushwork, I invite viewers to immerse themselves in these moments, whether it’s the gentle waves lapping at the shore or the solemnity of an ancient monument.

New Painting - Mulranny Rocks

2026

Limited edition, glycine print. Available framed or unframed.

An evocative watercolor capturing the quiet world beneath the waves at Mulranny Beach, Co Mayo. Inspired by childhood swims here, Karen seeks to recreate that hush one feels underwater — a suspended moment of calm and solitude, removed from the busy noise of life above. Subtle texture, muted tones and gentle contrasts invite the viewer to linger and remember their own secret, serene places, stolen moments under the surf. Delicate washes render the soft, sun-dappled colours of submerged rocks and the pale sand of a shallow seabed, while the rippled surface of the water floats above like a distant sky.

Bring the serenity of this peaceful moment in time to your l scene to your home or office.
